As the Principal Architect for Hodgin Architecture pllc, Aaron Hodgin specializes in architecture that incorporates outdoor elements to the interior spaces. As most people spend 90% of their time indoors moving from house to car, car to work and then back again, Aaron works diligently to create inspiring design where the interior spaces work collaboratively with nature.

Growing up in the Blue Ridge Mountains, Aaron was inspired by the incredible environment. Aaron’s interest in architecture originated in the theater environment from his childhood. His father directed and produced theatrical productions and Aaron delighted in the stage and set designs. In his first jobs, he helped build the heavy scenery and then paint sets for a number of productions. Working to fulfill his desire to learn everything he could to understand how buildings are made, Aaron worked as a carpenter and for architects in major cities from Chicago to San Francisco to Seattle where he completed graduate school.

He started his own practice, Hodgin Architecture pllc, five years ago to bring simple design solutions to clients looking for sustainable living and working environments. His focus is to develop architecture that is crafted for a particular place and reflects the scale and quality of the neighborhood context. He delights in finding opportunities to work nature into the design solution for his buildings. When not dreaming up new designs, Aaron drags his kids outdoors and away from their phones to explore the wonders of nature.

Hobbies, Interests, etc.

I enjoy getting outside with my family, year round. Together we hike, ski, snowboard, canoe and bike. When I can I love to bike to work and meetings close by.
